CAMP COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR
- On January 10, 2017
CAMP is excited to announce that our client, Oak Creek Club Homeowners Association, has been awarded the 2016 “Community Association of the Year Award” in the “large” category by the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI). The award recognizes communities that best demonstrate excellence in all facets of association operations and governance by following CAI’s Best Practices. This award is fiercely competed for by homeowner associations throughout the greater Washington D.C. area, the largest CAI chapter in the country.
Dwight Ward, President of the Oak Creek Club HOA Board of Directors wrote;
“This award of distinction could not have been possible without the commitment of our volunteers, the efforts of our management team and the unwavering community spirit of the remarkable people who have made Oak Creek Club their home. We can all be proud of the work and the dedication that has made our community a “Blue Ribbon Winning Community”.”
The winners were publicly announced at the 2017 “Jump Start January” event held by WMCCAI and attended by over 300 professionals in the common interest community industry. Charles Mathieu, one of Oak Creek Club’s two homeowner Board members and Board Secretary, was present for the announcement along with Susan Blackburn, President/Owner of CAMP and Derek Wilson, CAMP’s On-Site Community Manager for Oak Creek.
The award will be presented and the community will be recognized at the WMCCAI Conference & Expo on Saturday, February 25th at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. There will be a “Best Practices” session at the conference and Oak Creek Club has been invited to participate on the panel to discuss association governance and operations. A poster board display of Oak Creek Club will be featured on the Expo floor where over 2,000 registrants will be in attendance for the event. In addition, a special ad will be placed in the Washington post Real Estate Section highlighting the award. Oak Creek Club will also be featured in “Quorum”, the WMCCAI trade magazine.
Oak Creek Club is a luxury, gated community being developed in Prince George’s County, Maryland by the Woodlawn Development Group. The community currently has 855 settled homes and builds out at approximately 1,150 homes. Oak Creek Club has been a client of CAMP since January 2015.
